Hearing the Heartbeat

We both decided to take the day off for our second appointment. We have been really nervous going into this appointment as it would finally make it official to hear a heartbeat. It didn't take long after getting to the Doctor's office to get the validation we had been searching for over the last 12 weeks. The Doctor came in shortly after meeting with the Nurse and said "let's see if we can find that heartbeat." She put the necessary goop on Robin's tummy and brought out the microphone and seconds later we heard the heartbeat! The heartbeat put a smile on our faces and the Doctor let us know that the heart rate was 154.
After the appointment we decided to contact our media outlets to let them know that everything is fine. Yes, Mothers it is alright to let everyone know!!

Cat's out of the bag

There is still no concrete evidence to say that we have a healthy fetus, but that has not stopped overanxious Grandmas to tell people about the pregnancy. We ourselves have let some people know, but really were trying our best to wait until we heard the heartbeat. Thanks for the wishes of congratulations from all of the people that we didn't even know knew. Seriously we are alright with it as we know you are excited to get it out to the media as quickly as possible.

Garage sale hunting

Although we have not heard the heartbeat yet, we decided to take part in shopping at the North Liberty citywide garage sale. We went shopping pretty hard for the best bargains from 7AM until 1PM. In that amount of time we were able to buy any Hawkeye apparel available for a baby whether it would be a boy or a girl. We also found an exersaucer, baby swing, humidifier, non Hawkeye baby clothes, and some other assorted necessities for the baby.
